Whilst many procedures can take place completely independently of your home country doctor, it is both sensible and in some cases necessary to be able to provide as full a case history as possible. This is especially important if your treatment is based on a pre-existing condition and we need to know what treatment and diagnosis you have already received. In the case of minor surgery such as cosmetic procedures and dental work it is less important to liaise directly and notes are not generally needed. In either case we would encourage you to find out as much about your planned surgery as you can and this includes talking through your plans with your doctor.
